“This is the public’s chance to get have a say on how future elections should be organised”, said Councillor Kenny MacLaren (SNP – Paisley Northwest).
The Scottish Government is committed to ensuring access to democratic participation for all citizens. The way we vote in elections has remained unchanged for over 100 years. Modernisation takes place across all aspects of society and now is a good time to think about the kinds of innovation people in Scotland would like to see in elections. This consultation will allow the public to have their say on how future elections should be organised.
Councillor Kenny MacLaren added:
“Although the consultation closed on 12th March, it is possible to complete all the questions online in only a few minutes.
“By taking part in this consultation you can influence how elections will be held in the future.
“I would encourage everyone who is interested in democratic politics to get involved.”
