Free books offered to local groups

As part of Book Week Scotland (which actually happened a couple of weeks ago but there was a delay in the delivery), Councillor Kenny MacLaren has 25 copies of a free book available for local groups/ constituents.

Organised by the Scottish Book Trust, a free book has been produced with a collection of short stories and poems on the theme of Rebel.  As the book states:

IMG_20181205_200848Everybody rebels. It’s part of what makes us human to occasionally do the things we know we shouldn’t, say things we know will provoke or fight against things we believe are unjust.  Rebellion incites opposition and change, allows us to find our own individual voices and inspires future generations to challenge convention and expectation.

Councillor Kenny MacLaren said:

“This is a great idea to encourage more people to pick up a book and read.  The book contains short stories and poems based on the theme of rebel and is a great read.

“If any local constituent or group want some of the books please get in touch – but due to limited numbers it will be first come, first served.”
