SNP Councillors welcome resurfacing of Ferguslie Park Avenue

“We’ve been asking officers to resurface Ferguslie Park Avenue for quite a while but this has only become possible due to the SNP’s additional funding for road repairs,” said Councillor Mags MacLaren (SNP – Paisley Northwest), commenting on the resurfacing of Ferguslie Park Avenue.

SNP councillors, Mags and Kenny MacLaren, have been requesting the resurfacing of this road for a number of years but the previous administration always felt it wasn’t a priority.  However, with the additional funding arranged by the SNP administration for road repairs this road has eventually been upgraded, along with nearby Barskiven Road.

Councillor Kenny MacLaren added:

“The road surface at Ferguslie Park Avenue has been a disgrace for a number of years, IMG_20190923_191407especially the end next to St Mirren’s stadium.  It’s great to see that it has now been resurfaced and this will be welcomed by residents and the many people who use this road.  It is also great that Barskiven Road has also had the same treatment as this route into the shops at the Pheonix estate has been getting increasingly busy over the past few years.”
