“We welcome these road repairs, as we have been arguing for the additional investment in roads to include as many areas within our ward as possible”, said Cllr Kenny MacLaren and Cllr Mags MacLaren (SNP – Paisley Northwest).
A number of roads in the Paisley Northwest ward are due to be closed over the next few weeks to allow resurfacing of the road carriageway. This includes:
High Calside, Paisley – the closure will be in place on Monday, 10th August 2020 till Friday, 14th August 2020. This is to allow for carriageway resurfacing works.
Drums Crescent, Paisley, from McKenzie Street to Drums Avenue. The closure will be in place on Monday, 27th July 2020 till Friday, 31st July 2020. This is to allow for carriageway resurfacing works.
A8 Greenock Road (Northbound Only), Paisley, from Murray Street to McFarlane Street. The closure will be in place on Monday, 20th July 2020 till Sunday, 02nd August 2020. This is to allow for carriageway resurfacing works.
Ferguslie Park Avenue (Northbound Only), Paisley, from Blackstoun Road, northwards for 50m. The closure will be in place on Monday, 06th July 2020. This is to allow for emergency BT repairs to take place.
Cllr Kenny MacLaren said;
“It’s good to see the roadworks taking place, especially in areas such as High Calside which has had repeated repairs carried out. This will be welcomed by residents and visitors to the area.
“A large part of Greenock Road was resurfaced not that long ago and it’s good to see a further section now getting upgraded as well.”
Cllr Mags MacLaren added:
“This latest list or roadworks highlights the state that Renfrewshire roads were left in by the previous Labour administration. I am pleased that some of the areas we have highlighted for attention in the past have been incorporated into this current schedule.”
