Council backs SNP call for Tories to reverse their broken Pension Promise

“I am delighted that all councillors – with the exception of the Tories – decided to support our call for Boris Johnson to perform another U-turn and this time re-instate the Pensions Triple Lock”, said Cllr Kenny MacLaren (SNP – Paisley Northwest) commenting on Renfrewshire Councillors voting 26 to 5 in favour of the motion put forward by himself and Cllr Mags MacLaren calling for the Tories to bring back the Pensions Triple Lock.

Even Tory MPs don’t like the Tory Voter ID plans

“When even a Westminster Parliamentary Committee chaired by a Tory MP and with a Tory majority calls on the UK Tory Government to ditch its Voter ID plan, you know something has gone seriously wrong!”, said Cllr Kenny MacLaren (SNP – Paisley Northwest) commenting on a report by Westminster’s Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee (PACAC) calling on the Tory Government to ditch the bill that would make it more difficult for people to vote.
